On Friday 23rd September, Alison and Caroline took Trixie along to the White House Care Home in Hartburn, following an invitation from their Activities Coordinator Julie.

Thankfully, the weather was on our side. When we arrived at The White House, the skies were blue and it was quite warm. After lowering Trixie out of the minibus we Parker her up in the driveway of the care home and enjoyed meeting the team.

The staff systematically brought our residents and chairs so that they could not only ride with Trixie but also enjoy watching others during their experience.

Alison took the passengers out of the car park, turned left onto Kenton Close and followed the road around to the left before performing a slow U-turn and returning to the car park to board the next passengers.

While out on the rides, residents were commenting on the lovely properties in the area, the large gardens, the beautiful trees and the long driveways. There was one tree in particular, where we ere performing the U-turn, that the majority of the passengers pointed out as being a beautiful tree.

One of the passengers loved travelling at speed and I was told about how she had recently been on a sports car experience at a racing track. Now, Trixie cannot compete with the pace of a Porsche sports car but we did out best to provide wind in her hair and bugs in her teeth!

Another passenger rode with us no less than three times during this visit and would have happily rode around the corner for the rest of the day! Another passenger asked if we could take him back up to his home town of South Shields so that he could meet with his friends for a pint!

In total, we spent over 2 hours with our new friends (and some old friends, but that’s another story!) at The White House Care Home in Hartburn and we really look forward to seeing them all again either at the Home or in the community.

Huge thanks to Julie for organising the afternoon, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in your company.
