On Saturday 15th October, Trixie Trishaw attended Summerhill Park, in Hartlepool, to take part in the grand opening of the brand new cycling track built in partnership between Hartlepool Borough Council and British Cycling.

During the event, Trixie and the team had the opportunity to meet with local councillors and cycling personalities, as well as the opportunity to take the Mayor and Mayoress of Hartlepool around the cycle track in style! This was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the fantastic work taking place to open up accessible cycling routes around Hartlepool, including the Headlands and Seaton Carew, all routes we are looking forward to exploring in the coming year.

After the formalities had finished, we had the chance to take some of the general public and two of Hartlepool’s Police Officers around the track.

Luckily the weather held out for us and a good time was had by our team.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Physical Activity Team at Hartlepool Borough Council for reaching out and offering the chance to be a part of such a wonderful, intergenerational event. We would also like to thank all of the VIPs who took time out to speak with us, enjoy a ride around the track on Trixie and offered to help spread the word about our work. We look forward to more Hartlepool-based adventures in the future.
